Tenuta Martuscelli

Tenuta Martuscelli is a family-owned estate set on the hillside between Villamare and Sapri, at an elevation of approximately 150 metres, overlooking the Gulf of Policastro. The land carries centuries of history, today reinterpreted in a contemporary key — combining hospitality, agriculture and respect for the surrounding Mediterranean landscape.

The estate is an evolving project: alongside the accommodation facilities, an olive grove, a citrus orchard and a fruit orchard featuring varieties native to the Campania region are currently being developed. This agricultural vocation is not a decorative element, but an integral part of the identity of the place — with the long-term ambition of bringing the produce of the surrounding land to the table and into the daily lives of guests.

Within Tenuta Martuscelli stands Donna Paolina Rooms & Apartments, the property's hospitality facility. The name is not coincidental: it recalls the title by which, out of custom and respect, people addressed the owner's great-great-grandmother — Donna Paolina, a noblewoman originally from Vibonati and a prominent figure in the territory.

Her estate once included the very land on which the tenuta stands today. Tangible traces of her family's legacy remain visible to this day: the Torre Petrosa, the palazzo in the centre of Villamare — once a summer residence, designed by a pupil of the celebrated Luigi Vanvitelli — and the noble altar in the side nave of the Sanctuary of Sant'Antonio Abate in Vibonati, a testament to the deep bond between the family and this corner of Cilento.

Donna Paolina was conceived as a tribute to this historical figure, weaving together memory and hospitality in a place that looks to the future without forgetting its roots.
